Review of "Letters to a Young Female Physician," An Inspiring Book Before Finals

Hello Blog Readers! The stress that our class has recently been feeling has been overwhelming, beyond what I could ever expect. I struggle with coming home and finding the motivation to sit down, study, and work on all the homework used to prepare us for finals. I often find my motivation by imagining where I could someday be if I push through and work on the things that aren't always my favorite topics. My current passion is medicine and someday being a practicing physician, but also having pride of my identity as a female and someday being the first female doctor on my dad's side.  I found this book Letters to a Young Female Physician by Suzanne Koven sometime last year and was immediately hooked, but could never find time to sit down and read it, so I eventually returned it. My Debatable Gateway into Analog Horror: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Salutations, Potentially Happy Readers! If you didn’t recognize me, the author of this blog post, from the nickname I’ve given to you all, it’s Jemina! I’ve finally gotten to a stable enough point in my mental health to actually do a bit of reading, but more so I’ll be reminiscing; I first read this book ≈2 years ago. I won’t be revealing too much in terms of spoilers, but like my other blogs, I’ll sort of journal about what this book means to me, and how it made me feel. Here be… not really any spoiler-dragons. So here I am again, disappointingly having not finished another subject. My goal is to be transparent, but I’ll have to admit, the reality that this is the third blog I’ve written where I haven’t finished the book, is sad. But hey, I have finished it at least once! Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculia...

I was their American Dream by: Malaka Gharib - Review

Image
I never heard of this book before and decided I should check it out because it was easy to read for me, So after finishing this book I would like to give my opinion about the book, This book is more of an autobiography, the name of it is I was their American Dream by Malaka Gharib who also happens to be the main character of the book. Just like New Kid it does look like something that would be more for kids but Its quite similar when it comes to some racial undertone but instead about hardships of being a child of immigrant which for one I could relate to. The story starts of with the background behind Malaka, she was born to a Filipino mother and an Egyptian mother, her mother indented to completely stay in the Philippines as she was already very wealthy but because of martial law and protests during the 1970s, one by one her and her family members left the Philippines to go to California, U.S.A on the other hand Malaka's Egyptian father always wanted to go to the United States e...
