Where the Red Fern Grows -- MAJOR SPOILERS

Where the Red Fern Grows  was one of the classics that shaped my childhood. Recently, I decided to use some of my spare time to reread this wonderful book.  The story is about a boy named Billy who wanted a hunting dog really bad. His family wasn't rich so he had to come up with raising money on his own. He spends a lot of effort selling fruit and other things to local fisherman to raise the money, but we as the readers know that they only bought from him out of pity and maybe because they liked him, as they never ate the fruit and just left it in their fishing spot. Eventually he raises enough money, and manages to get two hunting dogs for a cheap price. After quite a bit of pondering, he decides to name them Old Dan and Little Ann. Soon he realizes that they were special. He won raccoon hunting competitions, and with the help of Old Dan's extraordinary sense of smell and Little Ann's wit, they caught the raccoon that was legendary in the area for being uncatchable.  How...

The New Kid by: Jerry Craft - Review

Image
Its been a while and I would like to apologize for making this when its late, but here is my blog. I read a book called the New Kid and I didn't complete the entire book but I will give my opinions about the book so far. I hope you enjoy this review because I got some things to say about it. Now that I have finished the book recently I have to say that I thought I wouldn't really enjoy but the book actually kind of interested me and because of its art style I thought it would be more catered to younger people but It actually talks about some common issues in the modern world like racism and as seen in this book we'll delve more into that as you continue reading this blog. So the story starts off with a 12 year old black boy named Jordan Banks who wants to be a cartoonist and so he wanted to go to a school that was much better focused on learning how to draw and stuff but he also believes he doesn't have a say in what he wants to do for a profession since his mom decide...

What Happens After Midnight Book Review

Hello Readers! I am back with another book review about a book I could not put down. This book is called What Happens After Midnight  by K.L. Walther.      This book first came to be as a recommendation on my instagram. My instagram quickly learn that I love Taylor Swift and anything Taylor Swift related, which includes this book. I was told that if I liked the album Midnights then I would like this book, and to be honesty anything Taylor related I would love.  That was only one reason why I loved this book so much, I'm also such a sucker for a good mystery stories and this book had just what I was looking for.     This book takes place on a boarding school campus within the last two weeks of their senior year, which means senior pranks are right around the corner, but this school doesn't do it how you would expect. In order for a prank to be pulled off it will be done so by "the Jester." No one knows who the Jester is exc...

Writing about The Mysterious Benedict Society, by Trenton Lee Stewart because I feel obligated to

Hi, Potentially Happy Readers! It’s Jemina, and I hope you’re happy, because I’m not! I have so much homework to do and I’m not super excited to write about this book! Also, this blog is very late and I’m trying not to freak out about that! Sorry! Anyway, I won’t be revealing any important plot details, but I plan on getting pretty in-depth with ranting about some of these characters, so here be dragons, in the form of somewhat spoilers!  To elaborate on my title, I feel obligated to write this blog post about this book for a number of reasons.  First off, I have basically been spending all my time for reading, reading this book, since my last blog post. I’ve come to the conclusion that reading this book is no longer bringing me joy. I refuse to lie, and so I will admit that I have also, not finished this book. So much like last cycle’s blog, this is an unfinished book review blog. I hope this isn’t a habit I maintain, writing and posting reviews about books I didn’t even fi...
