A ballad of songbirds and snakes Hunger Games Review-Krish

Hunger Games- A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

I had recently watched the fourth Hunger Games movie Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in the theater and decided to check out the book. I enjoyed the movie a lot and felt that the plot, acting, and characters were good. After finishing the movie, I was interested in checking out the book, and so I started reading. The Hunger Games Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes takes place right after the war and during the first Hunger Games. The book follows a young Cornelius Snow, who is a mentor, and the District 12 tribute, Lucy Graybird, as they try to win the first Hunger Games. This book also gives a good backdrop to the other Hunger Games books and explains a lot of stuff that was left unexplained in the other Hunger Games books

I enjoyed the book, and it was the same as the movie. I liked the character development over time as each character was like an onion, and had different layers. I also liked the plot, and the main reason why I liked the plot was because of the suspense. I couldn’t tell what was going to happen next, and it was like you were on the edge of the seat the whole time. Even though I already knew the plot because of watching the movie, I was still on the edge of my seat while reading this book. There were also many twists and turns in the book, that you never expected, and they contributed to the suspense of the book. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy the book to the fullest, because I had already watched the movie, but I still enjoyed the book. While this book was good, I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed and unexpected, and I didn’t like it that much. Besides, that it was a good book and I will give it a 4.5/5.

  1. Hi Krish, I am wondering if I would need to read all of the books before this to understand this book, as I am interested in reading some of the Hunger Games books at some point

    1. Hi Lucas, this book is a prequel to the hunger games series so you don't have to read the other books. However, this book explains a lot of the setting in the man series so it would be nice to read all the books.

    2. I agree with this Lucas, since it's a prequel a lot of things are already explained and you can easily catch up.
