A Book Review on The Hunger Games
Hello Readers!
This is my review on the first book in the Hunger Games series. I recently did a move marathon of all the Hunger Games movies with some friends of mine, but I left with a lot of questions that my friends were able to answer, but only the people that read the book. I took this as an opportunity to dig my nose into another great series!
I find that often times when there are book that are recreated into movie, people often prefer the books, which personally leads me to question, why? There might as well be a thousand reasons why the books are recommended to read first, but a few stand out to me. I find that often directors/screen writers feel as if they can make up for the lack of verbal communication because you we are now being provided with a visual element when in reality some of us can infer what is happening because we don't have that prior information. Another reason I find reading the books first is so that way I create time to picture and imagine what the characters look and act like, which I find to be half the fun of reading.
After reading this book and with watching the movies first I can say that I would have preferred reading the book first so that way I can really appreciate the world that has been created on screen, with also having some more background knowledge.
